$629K in Grants Secured for Energy Projects
UMC recently secured three energy efficiency and solar grants through the Washington State Department of Commerce. The program focuses on funding the best projects to increase energy and cost savings in the publically-built environment. Eligible entities include state public higher education institutions, local government facilities, state agencies, and K-12 public school districts. This round of grants will help fund approximately $1.7M in energy infrastructure upgrades for UMC clients, which include:
- Fort Worden Public Development Authority, $308K Energy Grant
- Fort Worden Public Development Authority, $170K Solar Grant
- Centralia College, $151K Solar Grant
“There are numerous funding resources available for energy projects including local, state and federal grants, as well as utility incentives,” says Scott Locke, P.E., LEED AP, UMC Energy Services Group Manager. “UMC’s Energy Services team partners with clients to facilitate and simplify the process; making it possible to secure additional, necessary funds to reduce capital costs.”
