Ashley Di Cristina recently joined UMC’s marketing group as a marketing specialist. In her role, Di Cristina focuses on a variety of marketing efforts including all aspects of the pursuit and proposal process, CRM (Client Relationship Management) coordination, event coordination, award submittals, and marketing collateral development, among other efforts to strategically position the UMC brand and its services.
With more than eight years of marketing experience working in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry, Di Cristina has built her professional career by applying best practices and lessons learned in marketing departments across the country. She has worked directly with architects, engineers, cost estimators, and field staff giving her a thorough understanding of the resources needed to complete a marketing effort from conception through completion. Di Cristina’s creative mind, curious spirit, and innate desire to learn inform her ability to convey unique value propositions and tailor collateral for diverse clients and project pursuits.
Marketing for professional service organizations requires many unique skills not taught in college courses. Connecting with industry peers and peer organizations is essential to becoming a top-notch AEC marketer. One of the most impactful pieces of professional advice Di Cristina was given was to join the local chapter of the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) whenever she landed in a new city. As an active member of SMPS, she has connections with the vast community of fellow marketers from coast to coast. Currently, she is SMPS Seattle Chapter’s roundtable chair on its professional development committee.
On her personal time, she enjoys traveling, all things involved with food and food culture, reading, and going to concerts.
