Overlake Medical Center was the first Level III Trauma Center on the Eastside and is known for providing award-winning, compassionate, and patient-centered care.

UMC has been the mechanical and plumbing partner for Overlake Project FutureCare and brought a proactive approach and lean processes to the project to eliminate waste and allow for continuous process improvements to help the team deliver maximum value to Overlake. In addition to traditional mechanical construction and building automation, Overlake tapped UMC’s expertise in Building Analysis and Modeling to identify energy efficiency measures and paths to compliance with the Clean Buildings Standard (CBS).

Our energy analysis and modeling team conducted a comprehensive study of the entire facility to identify a path to compliance with the Clean Buildings Standard. During the audit, our team found that Overlake’s current Energy Use Intensity (EUI) exceeded the CBS EUI. UMC outlined over 40 of the necessary energy efficiency measures that Overlake would need to prioritize to comply. The calibrated energy model had less than a four percent error compared to the recent utility data.
