Woodland Park Zoo
UMC partnered with PAE Engineers and Woodland Park Zoo to replace the heating and air handling systems inside the gorilla night house building at the Zoo. UMC worked with the Zoo and their consultant to finalize a system that worked with the Zoo’s budget and meet programming needs. The scope of work included replacement of two (2) rooftop units and one interior unit, roofing and curb modifications. The Zoo, particularly the gorilla unit, is a challenging place to work with multiple competing schedules, complicated site access, an aging infrastructure, and layers of animal management and behavior related restrictions. UMC was able to work with the Zoo staff to understand and work with all of these constraints, and still deliver the project on time and on budget.
