UMC is proud to announce that Camilla Yamada, Healthcare Market Lead has joined the Membership Committee for the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE). ASHE represents professionals who design, build, maintain, and operate hospitals and other healthcare facilities.

An experienced leader in healthcare, Yamada leads UMC’s healthcare market presence in the greater Pacific Northwest. She is the Washington State Society for Healthcare Engineering (WSSHE) Puget Sound Chapter President and board member, as well as a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).

As a former Director of Building and Engineering and Manager of Plant Operations at various hospitals, Yamada has been a vocal advocate for continuing education and a firm believer that education is the one thing that can never be taken away. She has also been a trailblazer for developing and expanding existing training opportunities — helping develop the “Stationary Engineers Apprenticeship Program” in collaboration with the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) Local 302 and Seattle Children’s Hospital; this program is a rigorous four-year program that couples classroom learning with on-the-job training to equip the next generation of building engineers.
